A segunda edição dos Prémios Megafone arranca oficialmente no dia 8 de Junho com a abertura das candidaturas aos Prémios Megafone Música e Megafone Missão.

A partir de agora, e até 31 de Julho, músicos e outras entidades que fazem por projectar a música tradicional portuguesa para o presente e para o futuro têm via aberta para candidatar-se aos prémios inspirados em João Aguardela.

Depois de na sua estreia, em 2010, terem sido entregues aos Galandum Galundaina (Música) e ao realizador Tiago Pereira (Missão), os Prémios Megafone regressam em 2012 com novidades na sua organização.

Graças a uma parceria com a SPA, que entre outras coisas permite este ano a entrega de um prémio monetário ao vencedor da categoria Música, os Prémios Megafone passam em 2012 a designar-se Prémios Megafone / SPA.

Além desta novidade, o júri deste ano será ainda mais alargado e abrangente, com a convocatória de novos músicos e outros especialistas nos sons de raiz tradicional.

Recorde-se que o Prémio Megafone Música é entregue a um músico ou colectivo de músicos que se inspirem e recriem a música tradicional portuguesa e que o Prémio Megafone Missão distingue pessoas ou organizações cuja actividade tem ajudado à criação e divulgação dessa música.

A cerimónia de entrega dos Prémios Megafone / SPA realiza-se no Pequeno Auditório do Centro Cultural de Belém, em Lisboa, no dia 24 de Novembro de 2012.
